Formed in Oslo in 1993 by vocalist Kristoffer Rygg and Håvard Jørgensen, Ulver is a Norwegian musical collective known for a fluid, eclectic sound. The band has traversed diverse genres ranging from black metal and neofolk to experimental rock, avant-garde metal, and synth-pop. Throughout their career, they have released music through various labels, including Kscope, The End Records, and their own imprint, Jester Records, consistently evolving their artistic direction.
