Covenant

Released in 1993, Covenant is Morbid Angel's third full-length and their most commercially successful outing, famously becoming the best-selling death metal album of the Soundscan era. Produced by Flemming Rasmussen (known for his work with Metallica), the album features a cleaner, more punchy production than its predecessors while retaining the band's signature 'lava' guitar sound. This record solidified the band's shift from standard gore-based lyrics to complex Sumerian and Lovecraftian occultism.
